Apple Cider Vinegar Health Benefits

Posted by

ACV is beneficial for digestion, nutrient absorption, blood sugar levels, diabetes, weight loss, detoxification, heart health, seasonal allergies, and more.

Apple cider vinegar (ACV) is a fermented product made from apples and active yeast. The apples are crushed, releasing natural sugars for the yeast to consume. This process results in high levels of acetic acid, the most beneficial nutrient in ACV. It’s also rich in potassium, magnesium, probiotics and enzymes.

Health benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar

Digestive Aid

Drinking 1 tablespoon of ACV mixed with 4 ounces of water before meals can help improve digestion, increase nutrient absorption, naturally increase hydrochloric acid, and prevent acid reflux and heartburn. The pectin fiber in ACV can also soothe stomach cramps. Note: do not take ACV if you have an ulcer.

Balance Blood Sugar

ACV is an anti-diabetic food that helps stabilize blood sugar levels. The acetic acid in vinegar helps lower the glycemic load of meals, so food is digested slower to prevent an insulin spike and promote even energy.

Fat Burning

The acetic acid in ACV boosts metabolism and supports weight loss because of it’s ability to increase satiety, prevent overeating, reduce sugar cravings, and improve overall detoxification.

Improve Heart Health

The acetic acid and polyphenols in ACV improve heart health by decreasing triglyceride, blood pressure and cholesterol levels.

Detox Support

Beneficial for balancing pH levels, increasing circulation and improving digestion, ACV is excellent for liver, lymphatic and overall detoxification.

Allergy Relief

With strong antibacterial properties, ACV supports the immune system and promotes lymphatic drainage to clear sinuses, eliminate mucous and reduce congestion.

Buying ACV

Opt for organic, unfiltered, raw, unpasteurized ACV with the “mother” at the bottom of the bottle.

Enjoying ACV

Enjoy ACV mixed with water before meals (1 tb ACV + 4 oz water) or sipped as a Detox Drink (below) throughout the day. Add to braised cabbage, marinades, dressings, sauces, soups, baked goods and bone broth. It can even be used as a household cleaner, veggie wash, hair rinse, facial toner, and more!
